HOW MUCH DO YOU CHARGE?
The prices you see quoted in the packages will vary depending on the requirement and distance travelled. Any additional playing hours will be charged at the hourly rate.
WHAT TYPES OF MUSIC DO YOU PLAY?
We can provide any kind of music you want. But most importantly, we will play the right music to suit you and your guests. The DJ will carry a selection of over 15,000 tracks , so he'll never be caught short for an obscure request.
DO YOU ACCEPT MUSIC REQUESTS FROM GUESTS ON THE NIGHT?
Absolutely Yes, on the night the DJ will always announce on the microphone that guests are welcome to make requests that they would like to hear, We normally ask the organiser if there are songs that they would rather not hear on the night. Songs that contain offensive or inappropriate lyrics will always be queried before being played.
HOW WILL YOU BE DRESSED FOR THE EVENT?
Black tie, if it's a formal occasion or fancy dress if you're having,say an eighties theme night. You can state your preference on the client booking form.
HOW EARLY SHOULD I BOOK?
If you're wedding date is nearer to a Saturday in July than a weekday in mid-November we recommend booking as early as you can. We do get booked up many months in advance.
Your booking will be sealed in the diary once we received the deposit fee and a returned booking form. We will always hold the date of your wedding/event for seven days though from the day you receive the quote so you don't have to make any rushed decisions
HOW DO I CONFIRM A BOOKING?
When you complete the booking form we will email a contract to you, and a receipt following your deposit. The booking is then confirmed. Payment can be made by bank transfer or Paypal. The booking form we send you will carry all the details needed to be used as an invoice .
DO YOU HAVE PLI INSURANCE AND PAT CERTIFICATES REQUESTED BY THE VENUE?
Yes indeed. All our equipment is Portable Appliance Tested (PAT) annually to the current HSE Electricity at Work regulations, and every item has a PAT certificate. Additionally. We are a member of AMP (Alliance of Mobile and Party DJ's Association) which provides me with £10 million worth of full public liability insurance (PLI) and employers liability insurance. If you'd like to see copies of all or any of these certificates, please let me know.
WILL I GET YOU ON THE DAY?
We are not an agency. We will not take your booking and then pass it to an outside disco company to manage. If you book DJP Entertainment then you will have staff employed by DJP Entertainment performing at your event. You will always know from the outset the name of your DJ and what skills he has to offer.
CAN YOU WORK WITH A BAND?
Yes, absolutely, we work with a huge number of live acts. Often when a client books a DJ and a band, they will ask for background music during/after the meal, the band will play the first dance and do their first set, which is generally around 45 minutes. The DJ then takes over again for around 30 to 45 minutes after which the band come back on for their 2nd set of 45 minutes. The DJ will then take over until the end of the night. This is not set in stone and it can be altered to your preference. Regarding pricing; some clients have had an expectation that the DJ would be much cheaper than the usual price in this scenario because he is only playing for a couple of hours. Our DJ's still have to be at the event the whole night regardless of the actual hours that they are performing for, so we do not offer a lower price because we are working with a live act.
DO YOU USE SMOKE OR HAZE MACHINES?
Generally not as they tend to send the venue's smoke alarms off. If you would like a smoke effect, I'd recommend a haze machine, they tend to be less, smoky.
DO YOU USE STROBE LIGHTING?
We don't. Unless it's specifically requested in advance.
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO SET UP?
It generally takes us one to two hours to set up all of the sound & lighting equipment,(depending on the equipment booked) and we will usually arrive at the venue well before the start time.
DO YOU OFFER OTHER SERVICES APART FROM ENTERTAINMENT?
Yes,we have a number of trusted suppliers who are our partners and they supply services such as: Catering, Mobile Bar, Marquee, Photoghraph Booth, Violinist, Florist, Security. Please feel free to ask for advice on any matters concerning your event.
